In my personal opinion, I think art courses offered at the college based program through my high school are complete BULL SHIT.

excuse my french but you would know what I mean if you shared my experience.

I am currently enrolled in an Art Tech class offered through STEP (a college based program through my high school). All classes offered at STEP are designed to be a little bit more challenging, open up new experiences, and prepare you for college life.

However, after taking the Hotel/Resteraunt/ Bakery program through STEP last semester, my yearnings to become a pastry chef have just hit rock bottom. It discouraged me from entering ANY culinary progam at ANY college. Absolutely disgusting.

Entering into the last half of this quarter, I have found that STEP is nothing like college will ever be. Or at least I hope its not.

I entered the Art Tech program eager to be challenged in the art department and hope to gain some "college experience" before I go off to ANY arts college.

what have we been focusing on in the past week??


SQUARES. we're critiquing fucking squares.

we have been restricted in our projects to a five by five inch square of paper to work on. that gives me no space to work at all. NONE.

I want to cry.
